With the Hoosier Challenge to be part of rally events around Australia in the latter third of 2020, rally.com.au takes a look at the finer details of this new competition.
The newly introduced Hoosier Challenge will take place across five different states over the next two months as part of a number of state-based rally events.
Competitors who choose to run on Hoosier tyres in their chosen state event this year will be eligible for Hoosier Challenge prizes and will also be able to take advantage of a special “buy three, get one free” tyre offering from the RSEA Safety Motorsport Australia Championship’s official tyre partner, Hoosier Tire Australia, with each entrant allowed a maximum of two free tyres per event.
Not only will the Hoosier Challenge give the winner of each event bragging rights over fellow crews, it will reward them with free entry into their local round of the 2021 RSEA Safety Motorsport Australia Championship.
The first eligible Hoosier Challenge event takes place at the AGI Sport Adelaide Hills Rally in mid-October, Queensland will then hold its Hoosier Challenge event in October before Tasmania and Victoria run their respective events in November.
Crews in New South Wales and the ACT will be the last to have the opportunity to take part in the Hoosier Challenge with their event to be the Netier National Capital Rally, which takes place on 27-29 November – alongside the RSEA Safety Motorsport Australia Rally Cup.
