Eli Evans has been excluded from Heat 1 of the BOTT Adelaide Hills Rally and penalised a further 20 Championship points following an incident on stage on Saturday.
The team has indicated they will appeal the penalty, which will be heard by the CAMS Appeal Tribunal in the coming weeks.
Stewards handed down their penalty on Sunday evening at a hearing, after a charge sheet was submitted by the Clerk of the Course.
It was alleged Evans and co-driver Ben Searcy (Car #2) failed to follow the emergency procedures for a vehicle stopped on stage, in breach of NRC SSR 5.3 (f).
The full Stewards’ Hearing Summary can be found here.
Evans and Searcy’s Sunday result remains, meaning they will still be eligible for all points collected during Heat 2 of Round 5 of the CAMS Australian Rally Championship.
