Entries continue to roll in for season opener

Less than one week remains until entries for next month’s Techworkz Automotive Rally of Canberra close, as more than 30 crews have already registered for the popular event.

Serving as the opening round of the 2024 Bosch Motorsport Australia Rally Championship (ARC), the event will see crews tackle 181 competitive kilometres over the course of 12 stages.

The latest influx of ARC crews for the season opener in the nation’s capital is led by Eddie and Steve Maguire, with both brothers to be behind the wheel of top spec vehicles this year.

While Canberra will be Eddie’s fourth rally in his Skoda Fabia R5, the event will be Steve’s first behind the wheel of his newly acquired Skoda Fabia Evo after making the step up from the Mainfix ARC Production Cup.

Other high-profile crews entered in the event include young gun Jamie Luff, West Australian Alex Rullo, who is targeting a big year of results in his second full campaign, and Peter Dimmock, who will compete in the Trenching Systems Australia ARC Classic 2WD Cup.

While 2024 will be his first ever full ARC season, Dimmock has a wealth of experience rallying on the roads of Canberra.

“Canberra is a home event for me,” Dimmock said.

“I grew up driving here, so I know the roads extremely well.”

“Back in 1997, I finished seventh outright in FIA Rally of Canberra driving a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo II.”

“More recently, I drove the Ford Fiesta last year and finished fourth in the 2WD Cup class.”

Crews wanting to enter Techworkz Rally of Canberra can do so via the Motorsport Australia Member Portal and have until 11:59pm AEDT on Friday 22 March to enter.
