Shamrock Motorsport’s Richie Dalton is unsure about what 2020 holds for him but remains confident he can still get to a few Motorsport Australia Rally Championship rounds.
The Irish native has already confirmed his withdrawal from the second round in Western Australia due to a wedding back home and is looking likely to lend his Ford Fiesta G4 to 2017 ARC champion Nathan Quinn.
The Fiesta, which has undergone a number of changes with Activ Rallysport during the off-season has Dalton feeling assured of its ability against the rest of the competition having not driven it in quite some time.
While Dalton intends to share the Fiesta with Quinn for different rounds in 2020, he also has hopes of securing an R5 car of his own to race in, however he is yet to determine it.
“With Hoosier coming on board now, the car has completely transformed over the past year and it’s given me confidence after coming leaps and bounds. I felt like we were keeping up with Harry now,” Dalton said during the pre-season test in Bagshot.
“I have tried to do a deal to get an R5 but that hasn’t come to infuriation yet. Hopefully that will happen in a couple of months when it’s ready to be sold and maybe Quinny and I will be in different car in the same event.”
