Breaking: Quinn withdraws from Adelaide Hills Rally

2017 Champion Nathan Quinn has withdrawn from this weekend’s PowerPlay Adelaide Hills Rally, due to unresolved technical issues that the Coffs Coast team have been unable to rectify ahead of the weekend.

Third in this year’s title race heading into South Australia, Quinn has been struggling with the turbo boost aboard his Hyundai i20 G4 for much of the 2023 Bosch Motorsport Australia Rally Championship (ARC) season – most notably in Queensland and Victoria.

Quinn was thought to have rectified the issue ahead of the South Australian round, with a recent victory in the NSW Rally Championship’s Bathurst Rally. However the technical issues re-emerged in the lead up to the team’s ARC campaign, and despite many hours of rectifying the gremlin, Quinn and co-driver Ray Winwood-Smith ran out of time to repair it and opted to withdraw the Hyundai.

Despite victory in the 2023 Make Smoking History Forest Rally, the withdrawal significantly reduces the 2017 ARC champion’s chances of a second title with just two rounds remaining in the season.

More to come.
