Anear keen for 2020 season

AGI Sports’ Luke Anear is eagerly awaiting the return of the Motorsport Australia Rally Championship (ARC) season after having a productive test day in Bagshot earlier this month.

Behind the wheel of the M-Sport built Ford Fiesta R5, Anear will enter the championship with more confidence than ever before after enjoying a big off season, which included securing a class title in the Motorsport Australia Targa Championship.

Now with the ARC fast approaching, Anear remains upbeat he can challenge for more podiums in 2020, starting with the Netier National Capital Rally in March.

“The event is closest to my hometown in Sydney so it’s great for us to get there because the stages are really fun,” Anear said.

“There is a good variety of surfaces throughout the event, but you have to be a bit careful because the one-day format means you have to go flat out from the start and there isn’t a lot of time to make up for lost ground.

“Harry was a bit quicker at the end of last year so I still have a bit of work to do to catch him, but I think I should be able to give Lewis Bates a run for his money. We will just take it one event at a time.”
