Super special rewards for officials

Volunteers at this year’s Kennards Hire Rally Australia will automatically go into the running to win a pool of prizes, including a hot lap at the Destination NSW Super Special stage.

The hot lap winner will ride shotgun in the official Zero Car, sweeping the stage prior to the World Rally Championship cars hitting the stage on the Thursday of the rally. Their pilot will be Queensland driver Shaun Dragona aboard his Subaru Impreza WRX.

“I’ve been a rally competitor for many years, but it would not have been possible without the hundreds of volunteer officials who make the events happen,” Dragona said.

“I, and all the competitors at Rally Australia, greatly appreciate their contribution and offering this ride at Kennards Hire Rally Australia is a way of showing it.

“It’s a money-can’t-buy opportunity and I guarantee the winner will have the thrill of a lifetime.”

The other major officials’ prize includes a trip for two to the Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix 2020, which includes airfares, accommodation and general admission tickets.

Registration to volunteer as an official is now open, with the event seeking a variety of roles from road block marshals, shuttle drivers, and media assistants, with all skill and experience levels welcome.

Officials registration is available at rallyaustralia.com.au/officials.

Kennards Hire Rally Australia is supported by the NSW Government through its tourism and major events agency Destination NSW, and takes place from November 14–17.
