Season Review: 2024 Junior Cup

The 2024 ARC Junior Cup wrapped up with a thrilling finish, showcasing the exceptional talent of Mitch Garrad and co-driver Taylah Murphy – who claimed the cup title.

The duo’s consistent performance throughout the season saw them claim the top honours, winning three rallies.

Together, Garrad and Murphy achieved standout victories in Queensland, Gippsland, and Tasmania, resulting in a total of 380 points that cemented their title win.

“What a year!” said Garrad passionately.

“We finished every single stage, every rally we started, so we couldn’t ask for anything better.”

Jaidyn and Lucy Gluskie challenged Garrad and Murphy for much of the season, winning the Adelaide Hills Rally by 20 points.

However, the Gluskie siblings did not finish their home rally in Tasmania, costing them the cup by 150 points.

Garrad and Murphy were both able to sit top of the standings for their respective fields, highlighting their ongoing strength throughout the season.

Garrad explains there is a possibility of returning for the 2025 season.

“We’ve got no plans for next year, but we will see what happens. He said.

“If there is a ride that pops up, I won’t say no to it.”

The 2025 ARC Junior Cup begins with the Rally of Canberra on 21-23 March.
