Rally Queensland to bring new changes for 2025

Preparations for the third round of the 2025 EROAD Australian Rally Championship are well underway, with the key details for the Accent Benchtops Rally Queensland officially public.

Taking place in and around the forests of Gympie, the 2025 Accent Benchtops Rally Queensland will be made up of 193 competitive kilometres across 14 stages in what is a similar itinerary to previous years.

As usual, Saturday is the bigger day of the two with 106 competitive kilometres over eight stages making up the event, while the remaining 87 kilometres will feature on the six-stage Sunday.

Although Sunday’s stages have been completely untouched, there have been a number of adjustments made to the Saturday schedule by event organisers, the Brisbane Sporting Car Club.

The changes include an adjustment of roads in the opening stage as a result of Gympie Music Muster opening up its compound for more roads, the addition of a special enthusiast point on stage two, and the popular Imbil stage being reduced by a few kilometres due to safety reasons.

Outside of those minor changes, the event will run as normal with the Wheels on Mary to kick off the rally on the Friday night and Galvaniize Insurance Rally Central to host the podium presentation on the Sunday.

Clerk of Course Brian Everitt was excited for the ARC to return once again and confident the new changes would be a hit with all.

“We have been hard at work to get this event up and going again and I am extremely pleased to be able to announce all the key details for this year’s event,” Everitt said.

“It’s fantastic to see the Gympie Music Muster showing their support for the rally, having agreed to allow us to use more roads in their compound. As a result, this year’s opening stage will remain a spectator point but will be much better compared to previous years.

“The relocation of the Stage 2 start line was created in order to build a new enthusiast point for those wanting another vantage point. Unlike your normal spectator point, this enthusiast location will feature the bare bones of facilities, but we highly recommend fans visit if they get the opportunity.

“And finally, while the Imbil Stage was reduced due to some safety improvements, I am still stoked with the course that we have and the roads that the crews will be able to enjoy.

“We are really happy to open entries for Rally Queensland and welcome everyone back to the Sunshine State. Preparations are going well and we hope to grow on the continued success of the 2024 event.”

This year marks the the event’s fifth birthday and comes off the back of an award winning 2024, which saw it named the Mainfix Event of the Year and Rally Central of the Year.

Entries for the third round of the EROAD Australian Rally Championship opened on Friday 9 May, with interested crews able to enter via the WOLF registration platform.

The Accent Benchtops Rally Queensland takes place in and around the forests of Gympie on 3–6 July.
