Jamie Luff to return to ARC for East Coast Cup campaign

New South Wales ace Jamie Luff has confirmed he will return to the EROAD Australian Rally Championship (ARC) in 2026 with his eyes set on the incoming East Coast Cup.

Having missed the 2025 season for personal and work reasons, Luff will be back in Australia’s top-tier rally championship on a part-time basis behind the wheel of his Toyota GR Yaris AP4.

The Yass-based driver will contest rounds in Queensland, New South Wales and Gippsland, which are the three events making up the new East Coast Cup.

Making his ARC debut back in 2022 in a Subaru Impreza WRX alongside his co-driving brother Brad, Luff enjoyed a stellar maiden campaign where they enjoyed two top-five outright finishes in their four events and finished third in the WOLF Production Cup.

Upgrading to the Toyota for the 2023 season, Luff continued his development and was a constant top-10 regular on the outright timesheets before going to another level in 2024 where a highly consistent year of finishing every event saw him end the season seventh overall.

Unfortunately Luff suffered engine dramas at the season finale in Tasmania, leaving him with a ton of work to get the car back in working order, which wasn’t helped by a busy life outside the sport.

Making the decision to take a gap year from the ARC, Luff is now in a position to make his return with his focus being on a full campaign in 2027.

“I am excited to be coming back through a part-time campaign with Gympie, Narooma and Gippsland locked in the

“I wasn’t wanting to have this season off, but we just had a pretty busy year scheduled for work, building a house and all the adult stuff, so it sort of threw a spanner in the works, and we decided to take the break.

“I’m planning to get the car running again and get it back up to scratch over the Christmas break and will do a New South Wales State round as a shakedown three weeks before Gympie.

“In the last two ARC seasons, I just jumped in the Yaris, drove it and never really changed much, whereas I’d love to use next year as a test where I can get the car right by seeing what works and what doesn’t, as well as see where I can improve and gain more speed before having a crack at a full season.

“With that said, the three events I will be running in will make me eligible for the East Coast Cup, and although I won’t necessarily care about the results, I would be more than happy to walk away from this learning year with some silverware.

“So overall, next year will mainly be about getting the car right and having some fun, and if I get some good results, then that will be a bonus.”

The 2026 EROAD Australian Rally Championship kicks off with the Accent Benchtops Rally Queensland on 17–19 April.
