Four-round Subaru WRX Challenge to begin in WA

After a successful initiation to the EROAD Australian Rally Championship (ARC) in 2024, the Subaru WRX Challenge returns in 2025 with a four-round series.

Paying homage to the Subaru RS Challenge from the early 2000s and running as a one-make series, the Subaru WRX Challenge for 2025 gets underway at the Forest Rally in Western Australia, before featuring at Rally Queensland, Adelaide Hills Rally and Rally Tasmania.

Like last year, the Subaru WRX Challenge will be co-organised by Maximum Motorsport and Subaru Australia, with the latter to provide technical support to entrants as part of the service, while the WA-based team will provide servicing infrastructure at each round.

With the first round of the season slowly creeping up, there has already been plenty of interest invested in the one-make class, with both reigning champion Glenn Brinkman and veteran rally star Andy van Kann already committed to the season.

General Manager of Subaru Australia, Scott Lawrence was pleased the Subaru WRX Challenge was returning in 2025.

“It is fantastic to have the Subaru WRX Challenge back for 2025, and we are proud to be supporting the series again,” Lawrence said.

“The WRX and rallying go hand-in-hand, and it has been great to see that passion come through during the Challenge.

“After the success of last year’s inaugural season, there is real momentum behind this series and a strong sense of community among the competitors, which we are proud to be part of.

“We are excited to be working with Maximum Motorsport again and cannot wait to see the competition unfold this year.

Competitors interested in taking part in the one-make Subaru WRX Challenge are encouraged to reach out to Maximum Motorsport to feature in the program.

The 2025 Subaru WRX Challenge kicks off as part of this year’s Forest Rally on 22-25 May.
