Buckby Motors to drive Rally Tasmania again in 2025

Rally Tasmania has had a major boost ahead of this year’s running of the event with Buckby Motors once again throwing its support behind the event for the third consecutive year.

To be known as Buckby Motors Rally Tasmania, the rally will serve as the season finale for the 2025 EROAD Australian Rally Championship and take place in the northern Tasmanian town of Burnie on 7-9 November.

Buckby Motors’ recommitment to the popular event, whose maiden visit to Burnie earned it the 2025 Community Event of the Year at the region’s annual Community Recognition Award, further emphasised the wider rally community’s growing confidence in the championship.

Headed up by semi-regular competitor Ben Newman, the Launceston-based company has strong ties to Tasmanian sport and boasts a long-standing reputation for supporting regional events within the state.

ARC Managing Director Adrian Coppin, who will now assume the role of Event Director, was pleased to have Newman behind the event again.

“We’re thrilled to have Buckby Motors back on board for 2025,” Coppin said.

“We have an extremely big task ahead of us and having Ben and the Buckby Motors team return as naming rights sponsor is a strong vote of confidence in the event and a massive boost for us as a championship.

“We’d like to thank him for his support and look forward to working with the Buckby Motors team to create an unforgettable event.”

Dealer Principle of Buckby Motors, Ben Newman, was also pleased to back the rally.

“After the success of last year’s event, there was no question we wanted to be involved again,” Newman added.

“Rally Tasmania is an exciting celebration of motorsport and regional Tasmania, and we’re proud to continue our support as naming rights sponsor.”

Key event details for Buckby Motors Rally Tasmania will be released in the coming weeks.
