Bodie Reading and Mark Young have etched their names into ARC history, becoming the first crew in recent years to claim back-to-back MainFix Production Cup titles.
The Tasmanians’ triumphant year followed a remarkable recovery, with the pair rebuilding their trusted Subaru due to significant damage made during the 2023 season.
Their journey to victory began with a delayed start to the season, only entering the championship at the third round of the year at Accent Benchtops Rally Queensland.
From that point onward, the pair demonstrated their dominance in the Production Cup.
“We managed to be consistent enough to take the title for the second year in a row, which felt amazing,” said Reading.
“When we first started in Queensland, we knew we had to be consistent and couldn’t affording making any mistakes,
“We finished every stage of every rally, which you have to do in order to be at the top in the end.”
Reading and Young collectively gained 326 points, racking up consistent podium finishes and a crucial victory at the Adelaide Hills Rally.
Their strong performance also helped them overtake Molly Taylor and Andy Sarandis, who had been leading the Production Cup standings.
“It was always fun battling Molly, she’s an Australian Champion,” said Reading.
“It’s hard to battle with people like that, but we ended up coming away with it over Molly, which is pretty surreal.”
Taylor, the 2016 ARC Champion, held a strong position throughout the season but was unable to contest the final round at Buckby Motors Rally Tasmania, creating an opening for Reading and Young to seize the championship lead.
This resulted in Taylor and Sarandis finishing second in the standings, with a total of 290 points.
Reading is open to his future prospects in the Production Cup.
“I’ve no plans at this stage, we weren’t even going to do it this year,” Reading said.
“But if a ride pops up, we will take it.”
The 2025 WOLF Production Cup begins with the Rally of Canberra on 21-23 March.
