Toyota Australia will once again sponsor this year’s Kennards Hire Rally Australia.
Running in conjunction with the FIA World Rally Championship’s (WRC) final round, the Kennards Hire Rally Australia will also host the final round of the CAMS Australian Rally Championship.
Competitors will compete over 316 kilometres, battling it out through 24 special stages on the Coffs Coast in New South Wales.
The agreement marks the second consecutive year of Toyota Australia’s partnership with the WRC event on the back of a successful 2017.
With Toyota having such a long history within rallying, Toyota chief marketing officer Wayne Gabriel was proud to continue the partnership. “Toyota has competed in rallies across the globe from its first ever outing in the 1957 Mobilgas Round Australia Rally through to the three GAZOO Racing Yaris WRC cars currently running in the highest level of the WRC,” Gabriel said.
“Our involvement and support not only delivers spectacular thrills for fans but also provides valuable knowledge and experience that can then be fed back into our development of road cars for customers.
“Rally Australia is always a highlight given our unique gravel surfaces and mix of tight forest and open stages that are a serious challenge for drivers and deliver spectacular action for fans and we are pleased to support such a fantastic event.”
Rally Australia Chairman Ben Rainsford was thrilled to welcome Toyota for another year of sponsorship.
“It means to us not only a fleet of the latest Toyota vehicles to enable our officials to complete their tasks around the rally course, but also a partnership with a brand that has been among the most successful in Australian and international rallying for many years,” Rainsford said.
“This is another great example of Toyota’s commitment to the sport and we look forward to working with it on another memorable Rally Australia.”
Leading the local Toyota charge will be Harry Bates and John McCarthy of Neal Bates Motorsport, while Toyota GAZOO Racing team will be continuing to represent the manufacturer in the WRC.
The Kennards Hire Rally Australia takes place on the Coffs Coast in New South Wales on 15-18 November.
