This week: Subaru Rally Tas

All eyes will be on Tasmania as the CAMS Australian Rally Championship’s fourth round gets underway on Friday.

Subaru Rally Tasmania will begin with a Super Special Stage in the heart of Launceston on Friday night at Inveresk.

Spectators will be the real winners, with the entire weekend being a free event, including the Super Special Stage and The Examiner Newspaper Ceremonial Start from 6pm.

As the weekend action heats up, competitors will enjoy more than 240 kilometres of competition over two days in the forests surrounding Launceston.

Those keen on seeing the best rally crews in Australia battle it out can head to one of the several spectator points set up to witness the teams battle it out for honours – find out more about the free spectator points here.

With the entry list now finalised, there are plenty of interesting storylines to play out as current Championship leader Eli Evans goes head-to-head with those keen to take the crown, including Harry Bates, Tasmanian local Steve Glenney and Molly Taylor.

World class cars will be on show, with two Skoda R5s to be driven by Evans and Adrian Coppin, while Bates’ Yaris and Marcus and Scott Walkem’s Peugeot will both drive the speedy AP4s.

As part of the event, a 23-strong field will contest round three of Tasmanian Rally Championship alongside the ARC entrants.
