Evans and Weston will contest the six event championship in a 2WD-DS3 as part of a two car team alongside Chinese driver Mr Cheng Zifeng.
Commenting on the change team manager Ron Cremen said “ I am very pleased to have Eli and Glen remain with Citroen under the DS Brand in China, as in all new programs the challenges will be great and the competition strong with around 100 competitors lining up for each round on the gravel, tarmac and snow covered surfaces that make up the CRC”.
DS Team China will have full support from the DS factory in China as the team looks towards the future in running a locally produced car in the region that will also host rounds of the APRC and WRC events during 2016.
Additional support for the program has come from the APRC winning tyre manufacture MRF as the brand looks to move into the Chinese market with its proven gravel tyre as well as developing a new tarmac and snow tyre for later rounds.
When asked about the opportunity Eli commented “ Having had success in Australia in the past, I am very excited at the chance to compete overseas which has now become a reality with DS Team China in one of the world’s biggest markets, Glen and I look forward to working with the team and the new challenge ahead.
