“Always a hunger, I’d love to do it!” smiled Crocker who has three Australian Rally Championships to his name during his days with Subaru Rally Team Australia.
Crocker has spent the last four seasons spearheading Polaris’ campaign in the Side-by-Side Rally Challenge, claiming the title on all four occasions, adding to his three ARC’s and four Asia-Pacific Rally Championship titles.
Crocker says he’s unsure what plans Polaris has at this stage for 2016, and with rumours continuing about Les Walkden running a two-car campaign for Subaru Australia, he’d dearly love to have another crack at an Australian Rally Championship®.
“Getting the win again for Polaris in this year’s Championship means now we can all sit down and work out what we want to do next year and beyond. There are lots of things I’d love to do, we’ll wait and see what happens though, I never like to get ahead of myself,” admitted Cody.
“I love competing in anything that’s a competitive class. I’d love to come back in a fully fledged four-wheel drive rally car, and there is lots of talk about what Subaru might be doing, but I honestly don’t know.”
Crocker remains contracted to Subaru Australia, despite their decision to end their rallying program in 2005, with regular appearances at car launches and drive days for the manufacturer. In addition Crocker won his first of four Asia-Pacific titles driving for Les Walkden Rallying, so has history with the Tasmanian stalwart.
So what does the future hold for Crocker? “It’d be great to do something with Subaru in the Australian Rally Championship®, and do other types of off-road events with Polaris, that would be the absolute perfect season in my eyes,” he commented.
The Australian Rally community continues to wait with baited breath…
