Tasmanian Tarmac Challenge Wants ARC Status

Organisers of the Tasmanian Tarmac Challenge have put their hands up to host a round of the Australian Rally Championship in Burnie this year. The expression of interest to the Championship organiser, ARCom, follows the cancellation of this year’s Rally of Melbourne, round five of the national series, which was scheduled for October 18-20.

RIchards Back For New Look Tarmac Challenge

Race star Jim Richards has confirmed that he will be back in Burnie on October 5 with the goal of winning the inaugural Tasmanian Tarmac Challenge. Richards is really the defending champion, having won the modern section of Rallye Burnie last year, but the event has undergone a range of changes, including its name, for 2008.
