12 April 2008 - Bates Wins Sixth Quit Forest Rally

Toyota Racing Development’s Neal Bates has taken his sixth Quit Forest Rally title, in Nannup, Western Australia today. Bates, driving a S2000 Corolla, finished second in Heat One and first in Heat Two, handing him the win ahead of Evans Motorsport’s Eli Evans and Redline Oil’s Alex Stone.

Currently placed equal eighth in the the 2008 Australian Rally Championship outright standings, the newly formed Team BK pairing of Brenton Kaitler and Vivek Samy also sit in first place in the Premier League class following last weekend's Quit Forest Rally, held around Busselton in Western Australia.

Round one of the Australian Rally Championship, last weekend's Quit Forest Rally, brought mixed emotions for the leading Toyota privateer Raymond Partners Rally Team. The infamous ball-bearing gravel roads in Western Australia saw the debut of the competing brother crew of Glen and Matt Raymond in their Toyota Corolla Group N rally car.

6 April 2008 - Winning Streak Ends: Evans Stranded On SS17

Toyota Racing Development’s Simon Evans’ reliability streak has come to an end, with the series Champion stranded on the side of the road on SS17 with engine related mechanical issues. If Evans is unable to rejoin the heat, his TRD team mate Neal Bates will be in a good position to take the Quit Forest Rally win.

6 April 2008 - [Before SS13] Bates Leads Heading Into Forest

A misty haze greeted ARC teams in Nannup this morning as they headed back into the forest for the first gravel stage of Heat Two at the Quit Forest Rally. Heat Two got underway, with the second running of the Busselton Toyota Super Special Stage. The rain that had held off all day started to fall on the field making the tarmac surface even harder to navigate for crews.

5 April 2008 - Disappointment for Guest in QUIT Forest Rally

Pirtek LWR Rally Team driver, Michael Guest, has had a disappointing end to the opening Heat of the 2008 Australian Rally Championship. Driving a Subaru Impreza WRX STI in the QUIT Forest Rally near Busselton, south of Perth, Guest and co-driver, David Green, were comfortably in second place after seven of the day’s ten stages, but rolled out of the event on the 24km eighth stage.
