CAMS Appeal Tribunal Hears Eli Evans/Adelaide Hills Rally Penalty

The CAMS Appeal Tribunal has this evening heard the appeal of Eli Evans’ exclusion from Heat One of the 2018 Adelaide Hills Rally.

More information on the initial penalty can be found here.

Evans, and co-driver Ben Searcy, were initially excluded from Heat One (8 points) and penalised a further 20 championship points.

Tonight, the CAMS Appeal Tribunal has upheld the appeal in favour of Evans – which sees the penalty cancelled and the 28 championship points reinstated to Evans and Searcy.

The Tribunal found that the actions of the crew in all the circumstances complied with the relevant requirements of the National Rally Code concerning the warning of oncoming cars.

A full summary from the Hearing will be released in the coming days.
